GARDEN DESIGN CONSULTANCY
With a history of design, both Ian & Jean Luc have a very good eye for design and proportion. From a simple redesign of one corner of the garden to a full design project, we listen to establish the client requirements of work together to achieve the results. Choosing the right plant for the position and its conditions is the key to clear garden design. We are conscious of sustainability and the use of as many autochthonous plants as possible, bringing water consumption to a minimum.

INTERIOR DESIGN
Ian & Jean Luc carry out many different interior and exterior design projects that range from simple furniture for a chill out in the garden to a full design project for the interior. Ian and Jean Luc often work together to compare ideas; Ian working with the exterior and Jean Luc for the interior, it often occurs that the outside of the house extends to the interior. Here in Ibiza both the doors and windows are open when the sun is out on average over 300 days a year. Your garden furniture and ambience should complement the house itself.

IAN
Originally trained as an engineer with qualifications in art and technical drawing, Ian had his first taste of Ibiza in 1989 when visiting the family apartment. Return visits became more frequent leading to a permanent move to the island in 2003. Ian realized that the island was a very special place, in total contrast from his beginnings.
Initially, to gain island experience, he took a simple gardening job in one of the best know garden centers on the island, rising in two short years to become their head of garden maintenance team. This was natural progression for Ian as his parents had previously owned a garden center in the UK. It was inevitable however that being self-employed was a priority for Ian, having had his own business in the UK.
The company started from small beginnings in 2005 and has grown to it’s current level after initially becoming a lot larger, at one point having twelve all year round employees. The maintenance of the gardens initially was the core business, however Ian’s interest in design has allowed him to develop over the years a service of garden redesign and full design projects.
Jean Luc joined the company to add another concept to the management of the clients houses. Ian found that his clients would often ask if he knew of anyone that might be able to carry out maintenance jobs on the houses themselves. Knowing that if you find a person of confidence, then you should stick with them, so more and more they were entrusted with different tasks.
JEAN LUC
The world of decoration is a universe that has always fascinated Jean Luc. Whilst he was working full time for various companies in Paris, he also ran his own concept and decoration shop in parallel.
Jean Luc’s next project was creating his own hotel on the mountainside with views over the Salinas. The decoration was studied in detail and chosen particularly with a mixture of contemporary furniture and other antique pieces. Each space having a defined use and the decoration aiming to help materialize this function.
After selling the hotel, and with a wealth of experience, Jean Luc purchased one of the best known restaurants in Santa Gertrudis. Naturally, the creation of the restaurant ambience followed with the same design principals. Ian was brought in to redesign the restaurant gardens.
After years working in parallel, Jean Luc and Ian finally decided to formally work together adding a long awaited and much needed interior design department and a housekeeping service to their company. With so much working experience this proved to be an instant success.
Client advice that Jean Luc offers has basic principles; in that the interior living spaces are fundamental to a house, however they must be multi use and always be in harmony with the outside living spaces. That's why he and Ian work closely together to define a global project, listening to their clients to realize their dreams of a beautiful house that can be enjoyed whilst here in Ibiza.
